Nearly Departed - Gila Pfeffer
This candid and relatable memoir is about the author losing both parents to cancer and the steps she took to avoid the same fate for her and her children. I read this through both laughter and tears - it is an emotional rollercoaster but weaved through with the author's very special brand of humour (she's a friend of mine and I can vouch that she is also funny in real life!). I recommend it as a brilliant and beautifully written story of the power of determination.
